Easter Treat!

My kids got their Easter treats this morning!

My surprise this morning was that I received an Easter treat myself!  I checked my email this morning and found that Syndi from Beachnut Lane had left me a comment to tell me that I had also been featured on her blog, Woohoo!   Thanks Syndi (a.k.a. Easter Bunny)  Beach Nut Lane is a wonderful blog and right now Syndi is deciding on what color to use for her living room!  Will it be Sea Salt or Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams?

Deciding between Sherwin Williams Rainwashed and Sea Salt

I have narrowed the field down to 2 colors: Sherwin Williams Rainwashed and Sea Salt. Here are some pictures of the colors in different rooms (with widely different results based on lighting).

While I Was Away!!!

Hey guys, we are back home from our Spring Break Trip to Canada!   It was a lovely place and I took a bunch of pics that I will get together and share with you this week!   Eh ;-)  
While I was away, I was featured by two of my fellow bloggers for my morning room and my son's soccer bedroom!  Holy mackerel, I was so excited to come home to such wonderful blog love!  

The first of the features was for the morning room.  Maryann from Power of Paint featured our morning room on her blog.  Power of Paint is an amazing blog that shares all sorts of inspirational paint pictures and tips and "how to's" on different paint techniques.  You can check her site out here and below is the wonderful feature she did about our morning room!

To create their gorgeous striped effect they painted the wall Quietude by Sherwin Williams. When the paint was dry, they taped off the stripes and then rolled minwax poly acrylic clear semigloss on top.
                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Our other feature was for our son Ethan's bedroom. Amy at Home Happy Home featured Ethan's soccer room on her blog. Amy has a wonderful decorating style! Okay, my last feature has nothing whatsoever to do with Spring, but being the mom of a soccer lovin girl I couldn't resist sharing this room by Helen from a brit of happiness. I Am Glad

Today our Beach Coastal Family Room was featured over at Lindsey's blog Better After.   Lindsey titled the post Oar'nt You Glad due to the Nautical feel that my Family Room has.  Well Lindsey, I am GLAD!  Glad to be featured on Better After!  Her blog is a great daily inspiration for me.  I can honestly say that since I started this blog, about 1 month ago, I would not have imagined the opportunities that I have already been given to be featured by some of the amazing blogs that I have  been reading for over a year now! It's so thrilling!!

A First for Everything

     So, I came home from work this evening, made some enchiladas, and sat down read a few blogs.  When I saw this, on one of my favorite blogs...

Hey, has your wagon been saggin? Helen spruced hers up by first obviously repairing whatever was wrong with it, (I'm no wagon specialist, but I suspect the problem had something to do with those unattached front wheels), then she painted it pink! If Radio Flyer doesn't already sell pink wagons, I bet they will now! See it on her blog A Brit of Happiness.






      So, you know what I did,  I yelled out to the kids, "I've been featured on Better After."  Here's the thing about kids.  They have no idea what that means.  So, I explained... and then we cheered.  The hubs came in from a long day at work and the first thing I said was, "I've been featured on Better After."  A blank look on his face and then I show him the post.  Ahh, the whole family now understands the true meaning of "I've been featured."  Don't worry, I got around to asking him how his day was ;) 
     Let's just say this has truly made my week! I have been following Lindsey's blog for a long while now and I always check in to see the amazing before and after makeovers that she posts. It's not just the before and afters that make me giddy.  It's also the unique titles she comes up with and the humorous ways she describes various posts on her blog.  You can visit Lindsey at www.betterafter.blogspot.com and see all of her amazing before and after posts.
