Seaside Interiors Logo

Do you know what today is?  Today is DECISION Day for me and the decision is not going to be easy.  In my last post, I shared with everyone that I am starting my interior decorating business.  Whoop! Whoop!  Yesterday I went to the bank and set up my business accounts and business credit card.  So everything is feeling more and more official as the days go by!

Today, I received my logo drafts from Mixed Molly Designs.  Do you ever tell yourself, "Don't get too excited or you may get let down, before you look at something?"  Well, I took a little breath and told myself "this is just the first draft."  Are You Kidding Me!!!   AWESOME!!  I wasn't expecting to like all of the drafts, but I do for various reasons.

So far, my decision to have someone (insert Molly here) who knows what their doing is paying off BIG time!   I could have never come up with these designs!

I chose the name Seaside Interiors because I like to decorate with a relaxed laid back style and I always want my clients to feel as though they are coming home to a vacation!  Or as I like to cheesily(that's a word) call it a "Staycation."

So, I would love to hear what you guys think!  What is your favorite design and why?

Design #1
Top right with the slender starfish design.

Design #2
Right Below Design 1.  It has the business name with a tiny little wavelike pattern running through it.

Design #3
The larger starfish design on the left.

Design #4
The bottom design with the word Seaside that looks like the peaks on waves.

So, there they are!!!  Let me know which one is your favorite!

Oh, I almost forgot, the designs are done in black and white in the first draft phase.  Molly had mentioned that the best designs are done in black and white and then you can bring in color after you see it in this form.

  1. I like 3 and 4. I feel like 1&2 look like hotel name font? I dont know if that makes sense. 4 is my favourite, except it kind of looks like Seasider. But i like that wavy font!!

    1. Agreed completely. #4 is my favorite, but I like 3 too if you want a pic in the logo. But I feel like # 4 is more professional-looking. This is my 1st trip to your blog & I love it, but since that is the case, don't let me influence you too much!

  5. This was a good idea! I never saw that it looked like seasider! I believe we can remedy that :)

  6. I like #3 the best, but maybe with the "S" font of #1?

  7. I like 1 & 3 maybe with the starfishes being a little lighter color or in this case lighter grey so it's just a hint of it. How fun I really like all of them!

  8. I'm guessing that you wouldn't have "put it out there" for commenting if you didn't want to know... so, granted I only gave them a cursory view (as is done by most folks), my vote is as follows along with why. (PLEASE NOTE: I think all are lovely and you couldn't go wrong with any choice.)

    1) I thought it was a flower rather than a starfish.
    2) LOVE. period. Love the nuance of the waves and it's simplistic design.
    3) Understand the premise but keep seeing a ghost or maybe a disfigured gingerbread man rather than a starfish.
    4) My #2 choice, although it's a bit hard to read.

  9. This has been such a fun post and I love all of the feedback, so thank you so much for commenting! You have also come up with a few things that I had not thought about, so that has been very helpful! I really love them all, but the look of #3 is really calling me, so with a little tweaking this might just be my logo!

  10. I really like logo #1, it would be really pretty with the starfish and interiors in turquoise! I can't wait to see which logo you decide to go with! :)

  11. Great designs and congrats on going 'out' into the design business! That is so exciting and I wish you the best of luck!
Of all the logos I like #4 the best, but it is really difficult to read the 'seaside' part, I think it would look great if that word were in another color(blue/aqua) to diferentiate it from the 'waves'. To me it looks the most professional (although I do love starfish!). I think the fonts used on #4 are a fantastic blend of trendy and classic/traditional. So my vote is #4. Hope this helps! Heather :)

    1. Thanks Heather, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. It is so funny that you mentioned the color combo and the word seaside. That was my problem to with #4. I was going with #2, but #4 kept calling me back, so after Molly did a few fix ups to #4. It was perfect, so that's the one I am going with :)
